Mobile computing is about giving someone the IT tools to access systems at the point at which they are doing their job.
But it’s no longer simply about giving computer access to someone who doesn’t work at a desk – today’s mobile computing paradigm has shifted to being more about automation of tasks.
Sensors, voice recognition and automated data capture devices are now firmly part of the mobile computing picture. We have moved away from ‘do the job, then record the result’ to a world where the act of doing the job also intrinsically incorporates updating records.
